Addiction Recovery

Honest help for addiction — and the people who love someone using.

Free · 20 minutes · No obligation

First, we help you understand what's really going on — whether it's addiction, misuse, or something in between. Then, we offer comprehensive support for recovery. We always consider the full picture: how the family affects addiction, and how addiction affects the family.

What we help with

  • Substance use and addiction treatment
  • Behavioral addictions (e.g., porn, gambling, tech)
  • Family dynamics, impact, and healing
  • Relapse prevention tools and strategies
  • Co-occurring anxiety, depression, or trauma

Our approach to addiction therapy

Addiction work at Dr. Gore Group is direct. Subtlety isn’t the right tool here. We challenge hard, we educate heavily, and we involve family because addiction never lives in one person alone.

We believe in the 12-step approach and push it as a support structure. We also work with clients who refuse meetings, gently and not-so-gently continuing to push toward them. The approach is individualized, but the honesty is not optional.

We work with addicts in various stages of change, with family members and spouses affected by someone else's use, and with people unsure whether what's happening qualifies as addiction at all. That question alone is worth a conversation.

Common questions about addiction therapy

Do I need to be sober to start therapy? +
No. We work with people at every stage — still using, newly sober, long-term recovery, unsure if they have a problem. What matters is willingness to look at it honestly.
Do you work with family members of an addict? +
Yes, frequently. Living with someone who's using is its own kind of hard. We help family members understand the dynamic, set real boundaries, and stop enabling patterns that keep everyone stuck.
What about behavioral addictions like porn or gambling? +
We treat those the same way we treat substance addiction — as patterns of compulsive behavior that need honest examination, family involvement where applicable, and real tools for change.
