Our approach to individual therapy

Individual therapy with our team is not about venting for an hour and leaving with no direction. It's about understanding what's actually driving the patterns you keep running into, and building the skills to change them.

We lean on evidence-based approaches (Internal Family Systems, CBT, existential and person-centered work) but we customize the approach to you. Some clients come and go quickly when they hit what they needed. Others go deeper over a longer arc. Both are valid, and we'll be honest with you about which one seems to fit.

What you can expect: a therapist who pushes when pushing is what helps, who slows down when you need space, and who treats you like a capable adult working on something hard.

How long does individual therapy take? +
It depends on what you're working on. Some clients feel significant change in 8–12 sessions. Others work on deeper, long-standing patterns over a longer arc. We'll check in regularly about progress and direction.
Do you work with people in crisis? +
We work with anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm. For acute crisis or active safety concerns, we help connect you with the right level of care and can provide support alongside that.
Do I have to talk about my childhood? +
Only as much as it helps. We care more about what's happening in your life right now and what patterns are getting in the way. Past context matters when it's relevant, not as a requirement.
