About Summer
I draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapies, Brainspotting, and DBT to meet clients where the healing actually needs to happen. Trauma doesn't just live in memory. It lives in the body, in patterns, in the way you relate to yourself. We work on all of it.
My clients come with a wide range of experiences and identities. I hold each person's cultural context, spiritual background, and lived history with care, because those things aren't separate from mental health — they're central to it.
Childhood trauma shapes adult patterns
Most of the adult struggles I see, anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, trouble trusting yourself, trace back to early experiences that taught you what was and wasn't safe. Healing childhood trauma isn't about dwelling in the past. It's about understanding how your younger self adapted, and giving those adaptations permission to change now that you're grown.
I use IFS and somatic therapies to help clients meet the younger parts of themselves with compassion instead of shame. That shift changes how people relate to themselves in the present.
Identity work is healing work
Trauma doesn't just live in memory. It shapes how you see yourself, who you believe you're allowed to be, and what feels safe to want. For many clients, the work of healing is also the work of reconnecting with an identity that got buried under survival, expectations, or roles that were handed to them.
This work is slow. It's also liberating. I honor the cultural, spiritual, and systemic context my clients carry, because those things aren't separate from mental health. They are central to it.
Grief asks for presence, not answers
Grief, whether from a death, a divorce, an identity loss, or a life transition that took more than it gave, doesn't follow a script. My job isn't to move you through it faster. It's to help you stay with it honestly, process what's under the surface, and eventually carry the loss in a way that lets the rest of your life keep moving.
Who I work with
Adults healing childhood trauma
Clients come in wanting to understand why the same patterns keep showing up: the people-pleasing, the anxiety, the trouble trusting themselves or others. We trace those patterns back, work with the younger parts of you that built them, and slowly build something different.
Healing from trauma and identity work
Many clients come in carrying the weight of who they were told to be, whether through family roles, cultural expectations, or years of surviving rather than living. I make space for the work of reconnecting with yourself: processing trauma, releasing what isn't yours, and building a relationship with who you actually are.
Grief, loss, and life transitions
Divorce, death, career shifts, leaving behind roles that used to fit. I help clients move through these without rushing and without getting stuck, using both talk therapy and body-based approaches to process what's actually happening.
